Friends of The Juniper Trust

Geoff Stone from Cotswolds handing over a cheque for £2000 to the Juniper Trust at the KE Offices in Keswick

Cotswolds have chosen to support the Juniper Trust by donating 5% of any money spent by KE Adventure Travel clients in their stores to the Juniper Trust. The most recent donation of £2000 has been donated to a project to install 120 solar panels in the villages of Tayapurco and Pischapacha in the Cordillera Blanca in Peru. This is a great way for KE clients to donate money to us and we encourage them to keep on spending money in Cotswolds across the UK!

KE Director Tim Greening receiving the AITO award for Responsible Tourism

KE has supported the Juniper Trust for over 7 years with several of it's staff and leaders taking an active part. In 2007, AITO gave its prestigious Award for Achievement in Responsible Tourism to KE Adventure Travel, a member company specialising in worldwide trekking and climbing. KE Adventure Travel already holds AITO’s coveted 3-Star Responsible Tourism award, in recognition of the company’s two decades of commitment to Responsible Tourism (RT).

This award highlights KE Adventure Travel’s successful, hands-on approach to RT that fits naturally within AITO’s RT guidelines: protecting the environment, respecting local cultures, benefiting local communities, conserving natural resources and minimising pollution. KE Adventure Travel believes that it is vital to give something back to local communities and, to this end, works closely with the Juniper Trust, a registered charity dedicated to locating and carrying out sustainable aid projects by the community, for the community. KE uses its expertise and local knowledge to ensure successful distribution of funds, and completion of work, in close co-operation with the local people. KE Adventure Travel’s school groups often visit and participate in the projects as part of their educational experience of RT.

AITO

In 2006 KE’s contribution to the Juniper Trust was recognised by AITO with a donation of £1000. AITO were particularly interested in the Solar Panel projects and earmarked their donation towards these projects which have know been completed.
