Noadswood School - Morocco Aroumd Water Project

This project is based in the village of Aroumd in the High Atlas Mountain’s of Morocco. Water in the village was stored in a tank of 8m x 3m x 3m = 72metres cubed. The water is sourced from the nearby river, mostly consisting of snowmelt. The tank was overflowing, as there was more water available than the tank can hold. This meant in the times when water was in short supply then the water runs out by the afternoon. The villagers were frustrated as they can see all the water being wasted as it overflowed from the old tank.

£2564 was raised between the Juniper Trust and Noadswood School in order to build a new water tank in the small mountain village of Aroumd. The tank in the village was overflowing and could not hold the amount of water required by the villagers. The new tank will hold enough water to provide for the growing number of families in the village. Noadswood School visited the project during their Summer holiday and assisted with the building work. Thank you and congratulations to all the pupils and staff involved.
