Island School Project - Kenya

In 2007, Jo Richardson Community School made a visit to Island School in Ol Maisor, a small village beneath Mount Kenya and helped with repairing the roof and walls, painting class rooms, making benches and desks and fitting rainwater catchment systems. They returned once again in July 2009, having raised £4000 to help build three new concrete classrooms to replace existing mud hut classrooms, which were badly in need of repair. The Juniper Trust has matched the money raised by Jo Richardson Community School. The school are now planning their third visit in 2011.
