Fundraising for the Juniper Trust
Donations to Juniper Trust are channeled directly into Health and Education projects and uniquely perhaps, there is no costly administration. The Juniper Trust committee are enthusiastic volunteers, working in their own time for something they believe in passionately, and which they feel really makes a difference in the developing world. Funds come from the generous support of individuals, organisations and schools who have formed a close connection with communities they have visited through KE trips or through hearing about Juniper Trust’s work. Individuals who have trekked with KE often feel they would like to benefit a particular region where they feel a connection and we are rigorous in ring-fencing money to particular countries or projects. Unfortunately we have many more project applications from across the world than we can fund at present – the need is huge and the potential list is endless.
We are very grateful indeed for any donations, big or small. Every single one will be well-used, and because we are able to channel money directly to the place of need and monitor its use, there is no waste and all money is used effectively. In our support for Tibet Vision for example, $20 will pay for a cataract operation on a Tibetan nomad, to enable him to see again and take a full part in family life, while just £50 will help build a water tank so that school children can have clean water to drink.
