The KE Connection

Since 1997, KE Adventure has worked closely with Juniper Trust and has a very successful record of locating aid projects and carrying them out.  The Trust identifies projects likely to generate long-term benefit, while KE uses its expertise and local knowledge to ensure that funds are successfully distributed and that the work is done. Working with a single charity in this way, they have been able to maximize their contribution to the areas they visit. Their focus, which works harmoniously with the central vision of Juniper Trust, is on finding sustainable projects where JT can work alongside the local people.

Juniper Trust has hugely benefited from the support of KE Adventure Travel, enabling a hands-on approach in each of the countries where they work, often with KE trek leaders taking an active role in community projects, and with schools that are going on KE visits taking on a fund–raising role to communities where they have developed a particular connection. Donations are then directly channelled to projects, with no waste and no overheads. All members of the committee are volunteers, some from KE, others quite separate, all finding time to support Juniper Trust, which they feel makes a real difference in the developing world. The Trust retains absolute independence in decision-making and initiatives, but is hugely grateful for the support they are given by KE.
