The Juniper Trust

Juniper Trust was founded in 1994 by a group of volunteers, inspired by writer and teacher Angela Locke. Today, 16 years on, Angela is still actively involved and all of the committee members volunteer their time freely to support worthwhile causes all over the world. Since those early beginnings, Juniper Trust has expanded hugely, but its basic vision remains the same: to work in a low-impact, sustainable way to support the poorest communities, particularly children, listening to community needs in the developing world and working in equal partnership. The Trust has always stayed true to the concept of 'trickle up' rather than 'trickle down' aid, which will benefit communities at grassroots level, enabling their development in a way which they feel is appropriate and, most importantly, of their choosing. The Trust's remit has always been to work alongside local communities, listening to what the people are saying about their needs, a journey of friendship and cooperation which is of benefit to both sides in an equal relationship. And this equality and mutual respect is the key to the vision of Juniper Trust.

The Juniper Trust is unique in that we have no overheads and we can guarantee that all of your donation will go directly into a project(s) of your choice and you can be confident that no money is wasted or used for salaried staff. We are all volunteers and we even pay for our own stamps! We are very grateful indeed for any donations, big or small.
